Dear Parents,
Welcome to Regis Middle School where faith, academics, service, and leadership have been developed and fostered in students for 20 years. When Regis Middle School first opened after the closing of Regis High School, it took a lot of hard work from parents and community members to get the building ready to re-open as a newly formed Catholic middle school. Through dedicated families truly committed to the mission of Catholic education, our story first began. Since then, thousands of students have walked through the halls and have re-established the tradition of academic excellence and faith formation that Regis High School instilled in the Cedar Rapids community.
I am truly humbled and blessed to serve as the third Principal in the 20 year existence of Regis Middle School. Thanks to the leadership of Rick Blackwell, Beth Globoker and numerous staff members, supporting parish priests, and exceptional parents and community members over the years, Regis Middle School is still thriving. The financial support of our Catholic parishes in Cedar Rapids has given families an opportunity to afford a Catholic education and has helped build a school open to families of all religious backgrounds. Thanks to these valuable stakeholders in Regis Middle School, the education and experiences provided to students and families have made a difference in so many lives.
At Regis we aim to prepare your child for a college preparatory high school education at Xavier where they will continue to grow on the skills learned here at Regis. Although we set the bar high, our teachers are well trained in differentiation and understand what it takes to support all of our students' needs. We put the student first in everything we do and aim to help our students be accountable for their education by being there with them and pushing them to be their best every step of the way. Service is ingrained throughout our curriculum as a Catholic school, and we offer Exploratory classes each quarter for students to complete a variety of service projects serving organizations like Catholic Worker House, Ronald McDonald House, and more.
Regis Middle School is big enough to provide high quality programming with ample opportunities for your child to discover God's gifts for them, and small enough to know everyone. Our teachers know our students by name and truly care about each student by meeting in grade level teams almost daily. At Regis, every student matters. From our FTC Robotics team, Art Palette, Show Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Concert Choir, Student Council, Royal Ambassadors of Faith, multiple athletic teams, and our 15-time State Championship Mock Trial team and more, there is always a place for your child to be involved. We invite you to join our family, come discover what it means to be a Royal and live the Royal Way, everyday, giving glory to God.
Sincerely,
Josh Gredys
Principal
