Immunization Requirements: By state law, incoming 7th graders are required to have: one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, pertussis) and one dose of meningococcal vaccine before the first day of school. A current immunization certificate from your physician will need to be provided to Regis Middle School. If your student does not have proof of these immunizations on file at Regis, he/she will not be able to start school.
Medications at School: The registration completed at the beginning of the year includes a section for parental consent for students to receive over-the-counter medications as needed at school. These medications include: acetaminophen, ibuprofen, decongestant, cough drops, antacid and anti-histamine. If your student requires other over-the-counter medications or prescription medication, the consent to receive medications form must be completed. Parents must bring the medication in the original over-the-counter packaging or labeled prescription bottle along with the consent form.
Illness Management at School: If a student has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, the parent/guardian will be contacted for the student to be picked up. Other health conditions may also lead to a student being sent home: general well-being and functioning are important considerations. After evaluation, a decision will be made to do one of the following:
Students with fever, vomiting and/or diarrhea should be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
