Service

Regis students have the opportunity to be a part of many school-wide service projects throughout the year.  Additional projects can be added as Student Council members and Royal Ambassadors of Faith students help initiate and plan many of the projects.  Some of these projects may include:

• Thanksgiving Food Drive -- to help serve Metro Catholic Outreach, a local food bank
• Christmas letters to retired Diocesean priests
• Toilet Paper & Laundry Pod challenge during Catholic Schools Week - to help serve Catholic Worker House residents
• Mini-Dance Marathon - in conjuction with the University of Iowa to benefit the Stead Family Children's Hospital
• Walk for Water -- a cause started by the Sisters of St. Francis, to raise awareness of global water issues and provide funding for fresh water wells

Along with these projects, students will also participate in a grade level service project.  These will vary from year to year and grade to grade based on the needs of the community and the number of students.  Students may also be asked to help with a service project during their Royal Community (RoCo) class.

Students are asked to perform five or more service hours on their own.  This may be done at their parish, a community organization, their neighborhood or even their own homes.  Students need to complete a service form to receive credit for their hours.  You can find that form here:
